The Liberatory Art of Making a Fuss
“I don’t want to make a fuss!”
“Don’t worry about it! I’ll be fine!”
“I don’t want to take away from everyone else’s experience!”
Whether I’m facilitating or participating in a healing container, these sentiments are inevitably shared by at least one woman.
My love, make the fucking fuss.
PLEASE make the fuss.
Have the tantrum.
Speak your truth.
Ask for the hug.
Shed the tears that have been suffocated for years.
Do you know how much insanely radical bravery it takes for a woman to not only recognize her own needs but to actually EXPRESS them?
To raise her hand - the very hand that’s been extended outward giving giving giving for a lifetime - and declare, “I need help.”
To feel worthy enough of RECEIVING the support her body and heart are aching for.
To give a voice to her hurting parts.
To shed the layers of shame and suppression that tell her to sit down, shut up, and not let anyone see the rage and grief that have been brewing for generations.
You cannot receive that which you don’t directly ask for and OPEN to.
Your fuss moves mountains.
Your fuss turns into gargantuan permission slips.
Your fuss reminds us that all of ourselves are welcome here.
Your fuss initiates intimacy and connection.
Your fuss is the living expression of the Goddess herself, in all her multifaceted, shapeshifting glory.
Break free from the societal straightjacket telling you to swallow your holy emotions.
And have the courage to own your humanity.
A woman who asks for what she wants is a woman who gets what she wants.
None of us are here to do this alone.
Let yourself be seen.
Let yourself be held.
